Emergency Homeowners' Loan Program

  • In a March 2013 report, Experian and Neil Mayer and Associates found that clients receiving pre-purchase counseling and education from NeighborWorks organizations are one-third less likely to become 90+ days delinquent over the two years after receiving their loan than are borrowers who do not receive pre-purchase counseling from NeighborWorks organizations.

National Foreclosure Mitigation Counseling Program

National Foreclosure Mitigation Counseling (NFMC) Program
The NFMC program was launched in December 2007 with funds appropriated by Congress to increase the availability of foreclosure counseling services across the country. Grants are being made to fund foreclosure counseling and legal assistance to homeowners, as well as to train foreclosure counselors. Read more»

NeighborWorks Center for Foreclosure Solutions
The NeighborWorks Center for Foreclosure Solutions was created to preserve homeownership and healthy neighborhoods in the face of rising foreclosure rates.  NeighborWorks offers training courses and resources for foreclosure mitigation counselors, conducts public outreach campaigns to reach struggling homeowners, and works with local leaders to create sustainable foreclosure intervention programs. The NeighborWorks Center for Homeownership Education and Counseling (NCHEC) delivers time-sensitive training to counselors on the front lines of foreclosure – in cities across the country. Community Stabilization
NeighborWorks America developed an online information hub, www.stablecommunities.org, for nonprofit organizations and their public and private partners working together to stabilize their communities in the wake of the foreclosure crisis. Data is also now available at the zipcode level to help states and localities identify the relative need of different neighborhoods for neighborhood stabilization assistance.
