NeighborWorks Training Institute to Offer CED
Educational Opportunities in Partnership with
Southern New Hampshire University

August 15, 2003 -- Neighborhood Reinvestment Corporation is pleased to announce an exciting new partnership with its Training Institute and the School of Community Economic Development (SCED) at Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU). This strategic partnership is designed to enhance educational and credentialing opportunities for practitioners in the community economic development field.

This collaboration includes a portfolio credit program open to students currently enrolled in the Master of Science in Community Economic Development (Master’s in CED) at SCED of SNHU. In this program, SCED will provide six graduate credits to those who have earned a Professional Certificate from Neighborhood Reinvestment’s Training Institute since calendar year 2000. These graduate credits can be applied towards elective requirements in the Master’s in CED program.

This partnership also offers a portable credit program in which SCED will provide six graduate credits to those who earn a Professional Certificate from Neighborhood Reinvestment and register with SCED during or before the completion of their Professional Certificate. The portable credits are transferable to other universities and educational institutions.

Both Neighborhood Reinvestment Corporation and Southern New Hampshire University’s School of Community Economic Development are confident that this partnership will help to expand upon educational opportunities for community development practitioners.
